Lonely Are the Brave is kirk douglas's favorite film and i would put it up there as one of his best as well. i found the message to be cynical, but true. people cannot be individuals unless they fight for it, sometimes it comes at a great price (going to jail, losing his beloved horse toward the very end). they will be beaten down until they conform to society's standards of what is normal.
